Golden Brains
The building of Russian Academy Of Sciences built in 1967-1990 in the Moscow, by the architects Yury Platonov (leader), A. Batyreva, S. Zakharov, A. Zvezdin, S. Kiselev, engineer A. Levenshtein.
It one of the most richly decorated buildings of Soviet modernism. Combines cosmic motifs typical of Soviet architecture with architectural forms of brutalism, forming together a surreal space. Due to the unusual shape of the decorative structures on the roof, as well as the fact that it was built for the Academy of Sciences, people call the building “Golden Brains”.
